Bartola Anderson, M.Ed
Founder & Executive Director
"We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give."
- Winston Churchill
Positive Transition Services was birthed out of a burning passion to help others succeed, feel valued, and respected as a human being in such an exuberant city. Founder and Executive Director Bartola Anderson decided in the summer of 2013 to finally live out her dream. She sought to use her blended natural talents to create a non-profit organization geared towards ending homelessness by offering affordable housing placement, supportive services, empowerment, and educational initiatives. The burning desire to create Positive Transition Services stemmed directly from various adverse experiences and negative jolted transitions Ms. Anderson endured as a young single parent raising two kids with limited income. Simply put, she wanted to make a mark by making a change! Maximizing resources and minimizing gaps in the lives of those who feel like she once felt, lost and forgotten in a big city where sometimes demographics and economic status takes precedence over everything. Luckily, as a result of essential services and programs offered to her in her community from non-profit organizations and agencies with a similar mission, her life has been successfully transformed. And now, she’s committed to strengthening the movement—TO END HOMELESSNESS AND EMPOWER LIVES WITHIN HER COMMUNITY!!
Ms. Anderson is ready and equipped to carry out the mission and vision of Positive Transition Services, Inc. She has several years of experience advocating for individuals of different populations in a variety of settings.
